The short version: your images never leave your device, and there is no account system, so there is very little about you for us to hold.

The images you process
Every tool on The Image Prep runs inside your web browser using WebAssembly and the browser's own image APIs. When you drop a file onto a tool, that file is read into your browser's memory on your own computer or phone. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
This is not a policy promise that you have to take on trust — it is a property of how the site is built, and you can verify it. Load any tool page, disconnect from the internet, and then process an image. It works, because there is nothing on the other end of a connection to talk to. You can also open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab, and confirm that processing a file produces no outbound requests.
Because we never receive your files, there is no server-side copy to delete, no retention period to describe, and no risk of a data breach exposing your photographs.
What we do collect
Hosting logs
This site is served by a hosting provider that keeps standard web server logs. These typically record your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user agent string and the referring page. This happens for every website you visit and is used for security and to keep the service running. We do not combine these logs with anything else or use them to build a profile of you.
Settings stored in your browser
Some tools remember your last-used settings — a quality level, a preferred output format — so you do not have to set them again on your next visit. These are stored in your browser's local storage on your own device. They contain no personal information, they are never sent anywhere, and clearing your browser data removes them.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, usernames or passwords, because there is no login.
- No email addresses, unless you choose to write to us.
- No payment details, because nothing here is for sale.
- No copies of your images, thumbnails, or metadata extracted from them.
- No cross-site tracking of your browsing elsewhere.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to platform documentation, such as Google's guidance on thumbnail sizes or a marketplace's image requirements. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Since there is no account system and no data submission of any kind, there is nothing for a child to submit.
Your rights
Data protection law in the UK, the EU and elsewhere gives you rights over personal data held about you, including the right to request access to it or its deletion. Because we hold no personal data beyond standard server logs, in most cases there is nothing to disclose or erase. If you want to make a request anyway, write to us and we will respond.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you — most likely because advertising or analytics has been added — the date at the top of this page will change. Substantive changes will be described here rather than quietly folded in.
